The IRS states: “Effective March 1, 2026, the IRS Enrolled Agent Special Enrollment Exam (EA-SEE) is no longer developed and administered by Prometric, LLC. A new vendor, PSI Services, has been selected to develop and administer the exam.”

July 1, 2026. SEE testing was suspended from March 1 through June 30, 2026 while delivery moved from Prometric to PSI Services. The window that opened on July 1, 2026 runs through February 28, 2027.
$317 per part. The SEE has three parts, each scheduled and paid for separately, so a full pass costs $951 in exam fees if you pass every part on the first attempt.
The IRS states that effective March 1, 2026 the Enrolled Agent Special Enrollment Examination is no longer developed and administered by Prometric; PSI Services was selected to develop and administer it. Registration and scheduling now run through the PSI candidate portal. The exam content outline, the three-part structure, and the 3.5-hour 100-question format are unchanged.
You must pass all three parts within a three-year window that runs from the date you passed each part. Passed parts expire one at a time, oldest first. Because the March 1 – June 30, 2026 blackout removed four months of testing, domestic parts that were set to expire between May 1 and June 30, 2026 received a two-month extension.
