When did EA exam testing reopen?
Domestic SEE testing resumed July 1, 2026, after the March 1 through June 30 blackout. The domestic window ends February 28, 2027. International scheduling and testing remain delayed. The IRS has not announced new international start dates.
What does the EA exam cost in 2026?
$317 per part. The SEE has three parts, each scheduled and paid for separately, so a full pass costs $951 in exam fees if you pass every part on the first attempt.
What changed when PSI replaced Prometric?
The IRS states that effective March 1, 2026 the Enrolled Agent Special Enrollment Examination is no longer developed and administered by Prometric; PSI Services was selected to develop and administer it. Registration and scheduling now run through the PSI candidate portal. The exam content outline, the three-part structure, and the 3.5-hour 100-question format are unchanged.
How does EA carryover work?
Each passed part normally remains valid for three years. Domestic credits expiring May 1 through June 30, 2026 receive two additional months. International credits expiring after May 1, 2026 receive an extension until international testing resumes. The international extension has no announced end date.
How many weeks are left in the current testing window?
The domestic window ends February 28, 2027. The calculator compares that date with your carryover date to estimate study time in this window. A later carryover date can remain valid after the testing window closes. International testing dates remain unannounced.
