exclam.ai works alongside any of these vendors. Upload paths vary — ACTEX sells full digital editions as downloadable PDFs (cleanest upload), ASM print manuals can be scanned for the full corpus, and The Infinite Actuary provides downloadable PDF handouts alongside their videos. For ASM digital (app-locked) and Coaching Actuaries (online platform), upload your own notes taken while studying. We do not distribute or reproduce any vendor content — your manual stays with the publisher.
Either order works. Exam P is more theoretical (probability); Exam FM is more applied (financial math). Many candidates take P first because it is a prerequisite perspective for later exams. Others take FM first because the pass rate is slightly higher and builds confidence.
SOA permits several financial calculators. The BA II Plus and BA II Plus Professional are the most common choices. Practice with your calculator extensively — exam time pressure is real.
Exam FM focuses on actuarial uses of financial math — immunization, duration and convexity matching, and cash flow analysis for insurance liabilities. A finance course tends to focus more on capital markets and valuation.
Upload your ACTEX digital edition, scanned ASM pages, TIA PDF handouts, or your own notes and exclam.ai generates a fully guided study plan: flashcards for formulas, calculator keystrokes, and concept checks.
